Great sound is in the details

The Takamine GY93E New Yorker acoustic-electric guitar benefits from quality tonewoods and Takamine's painstaking attention to detail. With its scalloped X-braced solid spruce top, black walnut sides, and 3-piece black walnut/maple back, the GY93E looks great and is tonally versatile enough to handle whatever playing style your musical mood dictates. And if you're playing out, the Takamine GY93E New Yorker's stage-friendly gloss finish will certainly command your audience's attention.

Takamine's TK-40D preamp system

The GY93E New Yorker sports Takamine's TK-40D preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output — instantly. The TK-40D features a gain knob; a tuner; an active shelving EQ with bass, middle, and treble sliders; and a low battery indicator. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard instrument cable into the endpin/strap-pin jack. Unplugging the cable turns the preamp off. The TK-40D is powered by a single 9-volt battery.
