It requires no power source to operate and handily converts an XLR input—via locking connection point—to a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone output, making the unit compatible with most consumer-grade headphones. A detented volume control allows you to set level with minimal possibility that the volume will drift toward other levels due to accidental jostling against the volume knob. This unit also features an impact-resistant metal chassis, giving the passive electronics inside a rugged enclosure.
